MLM advertising is a common topic among network marketers looking for solutions to build their businesses. Whatever the approach, the goal is always the same… to create a steady stream of incoming prospects who will ultimately join your business. The top earners in network marketing are generating dozens, even hundreds of prospects every day, but not the way you think (and usually for free!). The best part? You can do it too.

Most network marketers are taught to prospect their warm market…  friends, family and co-workers. The real truth, however, is that few people become successful in network marketing without some sort of MLM advertising. Few beginner network marketers have the budget or skills to get very far. Lesson #1: Advertise YOU!

First, you must know WHAT to advertise. Advertising your company’s product or directing people to your company web page won’t work. People join people who they know, like and trust. They rarely will join a company just because your product or comp plan is the greatest on Earth.

Lesson #2: Give FIRST!

People expect more today. They expect something of value before they will grab their credit card. They need to see you as a valuable resource, willing to offer support, training and mentoring. By giving them information of value first, they will grow to trust you and want to join you.

Therefore, all your MLM advertising must give first. Free information. Solutions. Training. All you ask in return, is their email address so that you can contact them with other valuable information. They give a LITTLE. You give a LOT. They will get to know you and appreciate you for what you do.

Whatever your budget is, spend it on giving… not getting (no, we’re not crazy… it works… read on!).

Lesson #3: Build a RELATIONSHIP!

You’ve attracted people to you. You gave them information that helps them, and they gave you an email address. It’s time to build that relationship strong. Communicate. Deliver a regular stream of information they can benefit from.

Write a daily blog post. Connect with them on the social networks. Offer advice. Solve problems. Invite them to training webinars. You may not think of this as “advertising”… but that’s exactly what it is. It’s just the “new” way of doing things!

Lesson #4: Promote

After, and ONLY after you’ve established this relationship should you promote your business opportunity. People in network marketing are pitched all the time. If you jump the gun, you’ll come across as just another get rich quick scam.

Lesson #5: Tools and Training

Now that you understand the most effective way to do MLM advertising, you will need a couple of things. First, you will need training. Get a mentor… one that KNOWS attraction marketing, blogging, article marketing and social media strategies. Don’t try it alone! Remember Lesson #2? The information is available if you want it.

Lastly, you need a system. You need web pages, lead capture pages and auto-responders. Again, don’t worry if you don’t know about these things. You are a network marketer… NOT a web designer! But these are the tools your MLM advertising campaign needs. Your mentor will show you a system that you can use that’s built for you that you can start using immediately. These systems are dirt cheap at under $50 a month, offer incredible training and resources, and will be the backbone of your network marketing prospecting efforts.
